The Sky is NOT the Limit

How many times have we heard the phrase "the sky is the limit"? To many around the world, this could mean that one can achieve as much as he/she desires; that there is a lot to do in this life to just waste our time; that we should not limit ourselves and, instead, should follow our dreams. But to me--and perhaps to you as well, this IS a limiting statement. Think about it: the sky is way above us, yes; but metaphorically speaking, does this really mean that after we "reach" the sky there is nothing else beyond?

Every now and then I hear individuals bragging about their professions, how smart they are, or how much money they make yearly. This might seem, to them, to be the ultimate step in life; that they have, indeed, "reached the sky;" that there is nothing else to achieve. But to me, some of these individuals have actually limited themselves and apparently cannot see beyond their materialistic and somewhat egotistic world. Nevertheless, this doesn't apply to everybody. Many of us are successful in many aspects; but still, we open our eyes to learn and to soak more from life in an endless cycle. Like some say, "the more you know, the more you grow."

I would like to rephrase the statement as "the universe is the limit." The universe is in constant growth, and so are those who know the real truth. The more we seem to know, the more we must to learn.
